You weight between 90-110kgs
Most people in this weight range prefer any of our “firmer” mattresses. Sometimes people closer to 90kgs will move down to the “medium” range. We have noticed that people over 95kgs may sink in too far over time when they get the “medium” mattress. They have no problems on the “firmer” ranges though.
Need adjustments? It’s simple! If your mattress feels too firm or too soft, there are several quick fixes available.
Over 115kgs?
You may have found that many mattresses soften very quickly. The trick is to use quite a firm springs, and some really dense foam. This will help get more durability out of your mattress. You should be ok with any of our “really firm” mattresses. Some people in your weight range have also moved into the “firmer” range without issue.

Are you guys even legit? Or just phony baloney online jabronies?
Hey there, it’s Karl. Mattress award websites charge fees to use their awards and for better placement on their site. I believe that if they were transparent about this, the awards would lose their value and credibility.
For me, participating in these award websites just wouldn’t feel right. It goes against my principles of transparency and honesty. I believe in earning your trust through genuine, unbiased information, not by paying for awards or recognition.
Hi, I’m Karl, founder of Ausbeds. I started the company back in 2011 and developed a unique mattress system to address the common issues I observed firsthand in my mattress store.
Here are 3 reasons why I’m not just another jabroni:
- Forum Contributions: I’ve been active on a well-established mattress forum for 3 years, contributing over 350 posts. With my experience from building Ausbeds in Sydney from scratch, I’m dedicated to simplifying the mattress selection process. On this website, I’ve distilled this knowledge into easy-to-consume chunks. But if you’re interested in more detailed discussions, you can check out my contributions on the Whirlpool forums. Simply search for my username “karlfromausbeds” to read my posts.
- Helping people in different cities: While Ausbeds is fully equipped to serve customers across Australia, I actively promote local manufacturers in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Perth as they have some great local options. I believe it’s better for people to choose a mattress close to where they live if the option is there. Have a look at other good mattress makers here.
- Ozbargain Engagement: People often have a lot of mattress questions on Ozbargain, and I’m there to answer them. Feel free to have a look if you like. Karl’s Ozbargain profile.
What if I don’t want to keep your flippy zippy mattress?
No worries, I’ll have it picked up within 7 days and give you your money back. Just let me know within 100 days of receiving your mattress.
Easy Returns
Online stores usually have a lengthy process for mattress returns, but at Ausbeds, we make it simple.
Also, I don’t make excuses, if you don’t want it, don’t keep it. Simple.
It’s a much easier process within Sydney as I have my own full time drivers and vehicles. However other cities are no problem, it just takes a week or two.
Even deeper Go BackOk, I’m kinda interested, what now?

Here’s some other stuff you might want to know
Most people want to know why the cloud is better than the aurora, I tell them “It isn’t, they are different, but one of them will be better for you” You see, the cloud just has more cushion, want your shoulder to sink in more? get the Cloud, Like a flatter feel? get the Aurora.
Mattress Materials
The Cooper uses Polyfoam which is why it’s cheaper. It’s plastic. Polyfoam is the main ingredient used in mattresses under $3000.
Aurora latex – Queen $2450: If you don’t want plastic comfort material, there is only one other option. Latex.
Cloud Latex – Queen $2940: Latex has a dense feel to it. If you put some microsprings under it, it gives it a lot more of a marshmallow feel. Some people prefer the Aurora feel to the Cloud. But to be honest, more people like the Cloud.
Body weight? how dare you ask me my bodyweight!
Why Body Weight Matters
- Lighter folks: Need softer springs to ensure that you sink in enough.
- Heavier individuals: Need firmer springs to make sure they don’t sag into the mattress.
I offer four different types of springs for different body weights:
- Under 70kgs: My customers in this weight range usually choose the “Softer” range. Although some people in this range like to move up to the “medium” range.
- 70-90kgs: 90% of people in this weight range will like any of my “medium” range mattress. Sometimes they think they want the “firmer”, they get the firmer, then they say it’s too firm, then we end up swapping the springs so it becomes the “medium”.
- 90-110kgs: These people sometimes want the “medium” range, but over time they end up on the “firmer” range. Over 90kgs is usually too heavy for the springs in the “medium” range.
- Over 110kgs: People in this range require our strongest springs. Some go for the “firmer” range, and to be honest, this seems to also work.
